This blog post is about the changes I made when I came back from a business retreat and the incredible results I experienced…
Since coming back from a 3-day business retreat in beautiful Palm Springs, California, I’ve been decluttering my home, office space, and mind, as well as creating systems to have my business run more efficiently, consistently, and smoothly.
I’ve really put into practice the concept of less is more and what Marie Forleo calls “Simplify to Amplify.”
I’ve heard it before, I’ve practiced it before, but not at this level. It seems like a part of me wanted to really get rid of the excess and focus on the basics.
As entrepreneurs, we spin so many plates. We are focusing on too many things at the same time. Sometimes it feels like our heads are about to explode.
The result? Overwhelmed fools with never-ending to-dos and not-so-great results (I know this. I’ve been there. Sometimes, I still fall off the wagon and find myself there again, so I have to regroup, refocus, and move on!).
This need and awareness of simplifying everything has not only resulted in more organization, less clutter, and more focus, but also in better results.
When we get rid of the noise and we focus on what truly matters, we feel less overwhelmed, more joy and as a result, we are WAY more successful.
If you are a solopreneur, like myself, who is wearing many hats, it’s time to trim off the fat, get laser-focused on the meat and potatoes, and start thinking of ways you can delegate work in the near future.
Since the trip, these are the things I’ve decided to focus inside the Fashion Entrepreneur Club:
✨ 1 Marketing channel: Instagram
✨ 1 Traffic channel: Instagram (Pinterest also works well for us!)
✨ 1 Nurturing channel: Facebook group
✨ 1 Main give-value channel: Our podcast “Fashionpreneur Talk With Gitana Styling”
✨ 1 Main communication channel: Email
✨ 1 Main collaboration channel: A mix of guest blog posts + podcast interviews
✨ Products (I recommend focusing on 1-3 max): The Fashion Business Online Incubator
Having 1 main platform or channel for each area to focus on has proven to be more effective, less stressful, and more successful.
I’m having more meaningful conversations, building more relationships, learning how to do a better job on each channel, delivering a better product, and having more sales.
When we are focused, we can see things more clearly, opportunities are more obvious, and they lead to better results.
This is What Happened When I Decided to Simplify My Fashion Business... Share on XDon’t spread yourself too thin (which most of us do as entrepreneurs!) and identify where you need to focus your energy to have better results in your business.
Every business is different and we are all going through different stages. For me, this season has been all about decluttering and creating systems, which as I shared has helped simplify everything.
This process has also allowed me to further develop a step-by-step strategy for each channel/platform, which has proven to be the best thing I’ve ever done! (Again making me less overwhelmed, more focused, consistent, and successful).
Simplifying and identifying what to do has dramatically changed my business for the better in just a few months. I can’t wait to see what happens in a quarter, six months, in a year!
So what about you? Where should you focus your energy now? Are you spreading yourself too thin like I was? How can you simplify to amplify your results?
I hope this article has inspired you to make some changes and simplify things in your business!
