Phoenix Fashion Week Recap 2018

The biggest fashion event in the Southwest – Phoenix Fashion Week – just took place this past October 18 – 20th, 2018 at the Talking Stick Resort and here is our recap!

First, I want to congratulate all my teammates who do EVERYTHING to make this event a success. From Brian Hill and Brenna Moses to every ambassador who helps throughout this process… EVERYONE makes a difference. It really takes a village to make an event like this happen and having been part of the team for 3 years now, I can tell you…it gets better every time.

PHXFW 2018

This year PHXFW was live streamed by COX all over the world; 25 plus fashion shows in over 3 days. It was fabulous 🙂

The first day, Thursday, October 18th was Community Night. 12 local designers showed 2 looks on the runway (except for Prodigal Sun who showed 3!). F.A.B.R.I.C., our local fashion incubator in Tempe, Arizona sponsored the show.

Here is a list of all the Community designers and my favorite looks!

  • Artsy Andreaz Floral Fashion
  • Bunny Gerrit
  • Chaos in Denim
  • Couture Aprons
  • Flower Power Clothing Co.
  • H she G
  • Klaunderi
  • Northern Clover
  • Prodigal Sun

(By the way, fellow Stylist Braden and I got to work with all Community designers and style their shows. It was a pleasure working with them. Such a talented group of artists!).

Thursday night also hosted Fashionably Pink, a fashion show of nominated breast cancer survivors and local celebrities to help bring awareness to this important cause.

Other shows included the FIDM debut of Ali Jawad, 2017 Lifestyle Designer of the Year Qmulative and Emerging Designers Nani Swimwear, Rockin Street Wear, Activ Intimates and WVSH.

I had the opportunity to work with Nani Swimwear and style their show, their brand is all about fashion forward active swimwear (the cutest swimsuits you’ve ever seen!). You can check them our here!

Here are some pictures from their show!

Friday, October 19th was Contemporary Night with Emerging Designers Sisi Aduke, Cody Chris Collection, MollyKate Cline and Being Dapper.

The Established Designers of the night included 2017 Contemporary Designer of the Year Nouvelle Palm Beach, DesignME by Mashael Al-Mutawa, For the Stars by Jacob and Svetik’s Haute Couture.

Without a doubt the big star of the night was Svetik Sambell from Svetik’s Haute Couture! All shows were amazing, but this one was really special (I had the honor to work with Svetik and style her show also. It was really something. Take a look!).

Saturday, October 20th was Couture Night with Emerging Designers Amanda Casarez, Zelenco, Orlando Dugi and Chau Chic.

Established Designers included 2017 Couture Designer of the Year ACONAV, Christine Adar, Yas Couture and Rocky Gathercole.

I had the pleasure of working with Zelenco, which is all about authentic design patterns, that are modernized and made into comfortable clothes suitable for business and evening attire (What a unique, versatile and pretty collection!).
