Knowing what to wear for a day out at the beach in the summer can be challenging. Yes, you have a vague idea of some of the outfits that might hit the spot. But you don’t know how to put them all together.

Fortunately, this post is here to help. It runs through everything you need to know about what to wear for a fashionable day at the beach. Here’s our two cents.

Choose Swimwear That Suits Your Style

The first thing to do is find swimwear pieces that suit your style. You want something that makes you feel comfortable, whether you’re going by yourself or with a group.

Naturally, that means choosing between a bikini and a one-piece. Bikinis allow you to mix and match tops and bottoms while one-pieces are better for sun coverage and preventing burns.

If you’re worried about fast fashion and the environment, you can now buy eco-friendly swimwear. It reduces the unrecoverable plastic content in items and allows them to break down more easily.

Get Cover-Ups That Make You Feel More Elegant

You can also choose various cover-ups that make you feel more elegant. These can take the form of sarongs or wrap skirts, like those at UNE PIECE.

Remember, with these, you want something that looks right at home at the beach. It shouldn’t be too loud or stand out a great deal – just something simple to keep you warm when a cool breeze comes rolling in.

Many women opt for flowing kaftans in these situations. Others go for maxi dresses. The latter are particularly helpful because they can double as evening wear, allowing your beach day to continue long into the evening, even if the only thing you have to wear underneath is your swimsuit.

Grab Some Suitable Accessories

At the same time, it also helps to grab some sun-suitable accessories. Things like wide-brimmed hats and sunglasses are infinitely valuable.

If choosing sunglasses, ensure they offer you the proper level of UV protection. Don’t just opt for tinted lenses as these simply won’t do the job you want them to do.

If you don’t like the idea of wearing a straw hat, you can get special products from Korea with a visor at the front to protect your facial skin. These are considerably more comprehensive and mean that you can protect your skin continuously during the hottest part of the day while also looking like one of the world’s highest-maintenance models.

Take Some Extra Layers With You

It’s also a good idea to take some extra layers with you to the beach. These can keep you warm when the sun goes down (unless you’re in a tropical location where it stays warm for much of the evening).

For example, you could experiment with bringing a light cardigan with you. These look elegant and are easy to wrap around your body. Denim also works and has the sort of durability you need if you’re going to a seaside location.

So there you have it, some of the fashion ideas for when you want to go to the beach.
