A common thread among us women is “I have nothing to wear.”
The truth is you “have” something to wear – you actually have TONS of things to wear – but you don’t know how to put it together.
You have access to millions of combinations, looks and outfits in your closet. They are just sitting there undiscovered and waiting to come out!
Today I want to help you get more use out of those tops you wear on a night out. Those that get to be used every so often or once in a blue moon.
I’m going to share 5 tips that will help you wear your night out top during the day.
Follow these tips and if the outfit doesn’t look right, don’t wear it. BUT if it does, then give yourself a pat on the back because you have just created another outfit my love!
Tip 1 – Pair your top with a white bottom
White is an excellent choice when it comes to day outfits. Nothing says more daytime than a bright color such as white. Whether you pick a pair of pants, jeans, dress, shorts or skirt, it doesn’t matter. In this case, I picked a pair of cropped white jeans. The color automatically becomes the center of attention. It downplays the embellishments of the night out top!
Tip 2 – Wear a blazer
Blazers or fitted jackets are your best friends when it comes to giving structure to a look. In this case, the black tones down the light hues (white and beige) and the embellishments of the night out top while giving the look structure with a pants, tops and jacket combo. Always go for a darker color when it comes to your blazer or jacket.
Tip 3 – Choose an accessory that pulls the look together
Since the top is so embellished (Like most night out tops. Most of them have details that stand out. That’s part of the reason we have a hard time wearing them during the day) and the white pants are so bright, select a classic pair of shoes that will pull the look together with the black jacket. In this case, a pair of black ballerina shoes does the trick. Another option could be a black handbag.
Tip 4 – Complement the night out top with similar accessories
Once you have selected the pieces that will add structure (blazer) and pull together (black flats) the look, you can select accessories within the same color scheme of your top to complement the look. We chose a beautiful goldish beige handbag and sparkly gold cuff. Both accessories have night out details (crystals, glitter, metals), but they kind of blend in with the top while still adding interest to the look.

Tip 5 – Keep your hair and makeup natural
This is key! Don’t do a smoky eye, red lip or anything that would suggest “night out.” Keep it simple and natural. I will help tone down the night out qualities of your top and accessories.
