How to Create Simple Videos to Connect With Your Audience & Look Your Best on Camera

Last week we talked about how visuals, especially pictures and videos, are the most engaging type of content on the web. I also shared with you a link to our free mini class “How to Look Your Best in Pictures” where I go through my top styling tips to get you picture ready {You can check out that post here}.

Today I want to dive deeper into the topic of video. If you find yourself watching videos to learn about new business tools, do research, try a new recipe or to simply entertain yourself throughout the day every day, you already know video is one of the most effective marketing tools out there.

I know this too because video has impacted my business tremendously. I’m by no means a YouTube celebrity or have millions of video views. Nevertheless, since I started making videos my engagement with customers and potential costumers has increased, my profile as an expert in my industry has been raised and new business opportunities have appeared. All of this as a result of creating videos for my business.

Within the video world, I find that both produced videos and live stream videos are extremely powerful.

Produced videos are the ones you record and then share while live stream videos are the ones you do live like Facebook Live, Periscope, Snapchat, etc.

Produced videos may require a little more preparation or production. It depends on your approach. However some people enjoy the fact they are not live and that they can prepare and re-record if needed. Also you can add graphics, music or any other element that will enhance the videos or encourage a call to action or further spread a message.

Live stream videos on the other hand are becoming very popular among viewers because audiences enjoy the unedited, unscripted, authentic kind of feel these videos have. This kind of video can be spontaneous or it can also be pre-produced. Some may click record and share their thoughts as they come up while others may still plan what to say or what to do on camera and then hit record. In any way, live stream video is definitely more spontaneous. Besides anything can happen while live, so this is also creates a more intimate and authentic feeling.

Whether you prefer to do produced or live stream videos, the bottom line is video is one of the best ways to reach your audience, connect with them and encourage them to take action. by creating these videos and being in contact with them, you can become their go-to person to help them improve a specific area in their life. How powerful is that!

So today I want to encourage you to take a step forward and evaluate the possibility of including video in your marketing and in this blog post I’m going to focus on produced videos {We can do another post about live stream videos if you want!
